What does Gift Calendar do?
Gift Calendar lets you create an advent calendar–style display for your Shopify store. You can assign gifts to specific dates, each with a description and optional image. Shoppers can click on marked dates to reveal the gift in a popup.
How do I add a gift to the calendar?
In the app’s admin panel, click on the date you want to add a gift to, fill in the description, and optionally upload an image. Save your changes and the date will appear in the storefront calendar.
Can I add multiple gifts to the same date?
Currently, you can add one gift per date. You can edit or replace it at any time.
How will the calendar look in my store?
Only the dates where a gift has been added will be shown in the storefront calendar grid. Shoppers can click on those dates to open a popup with the gift’s description and image.
Can I customize the look and feel of the calendar?
Yes. You can customize the calendar’s appearance through Shopify’s theme editor. This lets you adjust colors, fonts, and styles so it blends perfectly with your store’s design.
How do I display the calendar in my store?
You can display it in two ways:
- Online Store 2.0 themes: Use the Gift Calendar Theme Extension to add it directly via the theme editor.
- Vintage themes: Use the Gift Calendar App Embed block and HTML shortcode to place it where you want.
The app supports both vintage and Online Store 2.0 themes.
Does the app work on mobile devices?
Yes. The calendar and gift popups are fully responsive and work on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
How much does Gift Calendar cost?
Gift Calendar offers a 14-day free trial. After that, it’s $35 USD per year.
What happens when my trial ends?
If you don’t uninstall the app before the trial expires, the annual subscription fee will automatically be charged through Shopify’s billing system.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel, simply uninstall the app from your Shopify admin. This will stop future billing.
Will my calendar disappear if I uninstall the app?
Yes. Once uninstalled, the calendar and gifts will no longer appear in your store.
Can I schedule gifts in advance?
Yes. You can set gifts for future dates, and they will only appear in the storefront once that date is reached.
Can I upload any type of image?
You can upload common image formats (JPG, PNG, GIF). We recommend keeping file sizes small for faster loading.
Does this work for non-holiday promotions?
Absolutely! While it’s inspired by advent calendars, you can use it for product launches, flash sales, daily deals, or other time-based campaigns year-round.
Do I need coding skills to use Gift Calendar?
No. The setup is entirely point-and-click, and the calendar can be embedded directly via the theme editor or shortcode without coding.
