# Vintage Theme Setup Guide

> Learn how to set up a Gift Calendar in a Shopify store that uses a Vintage Theme.

After installing the app in your Shopify store, follow these steps to display the Gift Calendar for your visitors.

## ✅ Step 1: Activate the App Embed Block

- Click on the "Activate App Embed Block" button in the warning message, or in the first step of the setup guide.
- You'll be redirected to the theme editor.
- In a few seconds the App Embed Block should be activated automatically.
- **Save your changes and go back to the Gift Calendar App.**

## ✅ Step 2: Add gifts to the calendar

- Click on a date in the calendar.
- Enter the gift description in the editor.
- (Optional) Attach an image.
- Save the gift.

## ✅ Step 3: Display the Gift Calendar in your store

Once you've added all the gifts, you're ready to display the calendar in your store.

To display the Gift Calendar:

- Add this shortcode to a page / collection / product description, where you want the calendar to appear:

  ```html
  <div is="sbs-gift-calendar-shortcode"></div>
  ```

- Paste the code in *HTML view* (page, collection, product description, etc). See the video help: https://giftcalendarapp.com/source-code-help.mp4
- **Save your changes and view the page.** The Gift Calendar should show up with the gifts you added to it previously.

## 🎨 Step 4: Customize the Gift Calendar

To customize the calendar in a Vintage theme:

- Open the Theme Editor and go to the page where you added the shortcode.
- If the calendar doesn't appear, check that the Gift Calendar app embed is enabled (step 1).
- In the App Embed section, look for *Gift Calendar Block* and open its settings by clicking on it.

- Adjust the design settings to match your brand.
- **Save your changes.**
